The Swiss national team announced that Dean Kukan is out for the remainder of the tournament and the last open roster spot will be used for Romain Loeffel.

With currently only six healthy defencemen after Kukan’s and Felicien Du Bois’ injuries, the Swiss decided that they will register Romain Loeffel as last player while forward Tristan Scherwey, who has been practising with the team, can’t be added to the official roster anymore.

Loeffel was originally cut from the roster on 28 April and left for holidays in Dubai. The Geneve-Servette defenceman came back to the Swiss national team last week and is expected to play in the Swiss’ last preliminary-round game against the Czech Republic.
