The first games of the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Canada vs. Latvia in Prague and USA vs Finland in Ostrava, are scheduled for Friday, May 1st 4:15 PM.

The Championship opening ceremony will take place before the first two evening games, Czech Republic vs. Sweden in Prague and defending World Champion Russia vs. Norway in Ostrava.

"Our ambition was to be fair in all respects in creating the game schedule, and we are glad that our negotiations with the teams as well as with TV broadcasters were smooth,” said CIHA General Secretary Martin Urban.

On Tuesday, August 19, the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Organizing Committee also published ticket price categories, as well as the ticket sales system and schedule.

The prices of tickets for single preliminary round games range from CZK 190 (€ 7) to CZK 1,690 (€ 61). The quarter-final games are priced in two categories: CZK 2,390 (€ 86) and CZK 2,990 (€ 107).

"The aim of the Organizing Committee was to set the prices in line with the event schedule and the tournament draw. Although the income from tickets sale is the key to cover all costs connected with the championship organization, we wished to make especially the preliminary round games affordable to local people,“ says CIHA President Tomáš Král and goes on to say: "Our ambition was to keep the prices somewhere around the average of previous editions of the championship.“

The sales of tickets for the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will start in November. The date and other details concerning the ticket sales system will be published soon.

The official ticket seller is SAZKA TICKET. Tickets will be available worldwide via the official ticket seller online.

Only day packages will be available at the first stage of the ticket sales process, i.e. tickets for two or three games on the same day in a single arena. Scheduled to start in February, the second stage will also include distribution of tickets for individual games if still available at that time.

The total capacity of both arenas will have to be reduced due to seats reserved for the IIHF, event partners and media.

All details concerning the game schedule and the ticket sales system will be available on the official Championship website, www.iihfworlds2015.com, that has been launched in two language versions – Czech and English. You can also follow the Organizing Committee on Facebook and Twitter.
