Czechs name extended roster

Jagr is one of 28 players on the Czech national team’s extended roster for the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Prague and Ostrava that was announced on Friday.
The announcement was made at a press conference after the exhibition game wins against Finland (4-1, 3-2 in shootout). Jagr already practised with the team and played in tonight’s exhibition game but originally said he hasn’t decided about his comeback yet. Now it’s confirmed.
The Czech national team will also be joined by netminder Ondrej Pavelec. After passing the medical examinations he’s expected to arrive at the camp in Prague on Monday. The Winnipeg Jets goalie will be the seventh NHL player to join the host country’s national team for the Worlds.
Forwards Michal Birner and Tomas Zohorna were cut from the roster while the participation of veteran forward Martin Rucinsky is uncertain due to an injury in the Czech playoff final.
With the nomination of three goaltenders, nine defenceman and 16 forwards, the Czechs will have to cut three skaters for the final roster size at the World Championship.
